Greyhounds Win Landslide Victory!
We are proud to announce that Massachusetts voters have overwhelmingly passed Question 3, the Greyhound Protect Act, by a margin of 56% to 44%!!! This is the first time in history that dog tracks have been closed down by citizens vote.
Yesterday, the greyhounds won in 12 of 14 counties. From Boston to the Berkshires and Nantucket to North Adams, voters in nearly 290 towns said “yes” to ending 75 years of cruelty.
This is a fantastic win for dogs in Massachusetts and it marks the demise of an industry that exploits dogs for entertainment and profit.
Moving forward, GREY2K USA will work to place any and all available greyhounds from Wonderland and Raynham Parks. Stay tuned to learn how you can support this effort as the tracks begin winding down their operations.
As you know, dog racing still exists in 10 other states and we are committed to ending dog racing nationwide. We are grateful for your support of our work.
For the dogs,
Carey Theil & Christine Dorchak

If you are a dog lover living in Massachusetts, you can make a positive difference in the lives of the greyhounds used in racetracks on this election day.
At Massachusetts racetracks, thousands of dogs are treated in a way that is cruel and inhumane.
They endure lives of terrible confinement, kept in cages barely large enough for them to stand up or turn around for 20 or more hours each day. When racing, they suffer serious injuries, breaking their legs, necks and backs.
Also, in recent years dogs have died from a mysterious illness and tested positive for cocaine.
Watch Kelly Carney, daughter of racetrack owner George Carney proclaim that greyhounds are NOT dogs! www.protectdogs.org/debate
(Hard to believe that this woman could actually spew such disdain for a dog’s life.)
You can help end this cruelty. On Nov. 4, Massachusetts citizens can help thousands of dogs by voting YES on 3!”

Friends:
With only 25 days left until election day, citizens are closer than ever to passing Question 3 and helping thousands of greyhounds. In fact, according to a poll released this morning, animal protection supporters have a 23-point lead.
Dog track owners also know that voters are prepared to vote YES for the dogs, and quite frankly they are getting a bit desperate. In recent weeks, they have made all sorts of claims that have no basis in fact.
That is why we launched Question3Facts.org this morning. This new website dispels some of the false statements being made by dog track proponents.
We are close to ending this cruelty, but must not let up. Please keep working for the greyhounds, and make an immediate donation now so that we can get Yes on 3 TV ads on the air.”

From our friends at Grey2KUSA
Friends:
With forty days left until Election Day, Massachusetts greyhounds are in the fight of their lives.
Across the state, thousands of volunteers are hard at work asking their neighbors to vote Yes on Question 3, a ballot question to close two cruel dog tracks. And if the election were held today, the greyhounds would win.
Unfortunately, wealthy racetrack owners also know their inhumane businesses are in jeopardy. That is why they recently launched a campaign based on misinformation and confusion. First, they named themselves the “Committee to Protect Dogs and Jobs,” in an obvious attempt to mimic the Yes on 3 campaign. When we alerted authorities to this subterfuge, they renamed themselves the “Massachusetts Animal Coalition.” However, a non-profit animal protection organization by that name already exists—and has always supported our work.
This is not the only recent example of dog track deception. Even though their campaign is only hours old, they have already made multiple false statements. For example, in a newspaper ad yesterday the tracks claimed to have a 100% greyhound adoption rate. But state records prove that the actual adoption rate is only 14%.
Please don’t let wealthy dog track owners get away with this. We have the truth, but the greyhounds will not win without the financial resources to bring our message of compassion to all voters.
If you haven’t already done so, watch our Yes on 3 video and then forward it to all your friends! Then make an immediate contribution right away, and send a message to these dog tracks that we will no longer tolerate their denial and deception.”
BARK THE VOTE! Vote YES on 3! Spread the word.

Next year will mark the 75th anniversary of the introduction of greyhound racing in Massachusetts. Over the decades, thousands of dogs have suffered and died at Bay State racetracks.
In 69 days, citizens will have an historic opportunity to Vote YES on Question 3 and end this cruelty forever!
You and I know the truth about this exploitive industry. We know that over 800 greyhounds have been injured while racing since 2002, including dogs that suffered broken legs, paralysis, and broken necks. We know that thousands of greyhounds endure lives of terrible confinement, inside tiny cages barely large enough for them to stand up or turn around. This is no way to treat a dog!
But success will only be possible if we can deliver this humane message far and wide. Already, wealthy dog track owner George Carney has threatened to spend millions against Question 3. He intends to whitewash the cruelty at Raynham Park with a multi-million dollar television advertising campaign.
Don’t let this happen! To win, we must fund our own television ad campaign, bringing our message of common sense and compassion to every voter in the state. Over the next sixty-nine days, we will execute a robust public education campaign – distributing bumper stickers, buttons and flyers – but this alone will not bring the greyhounds home. Without a prominent television and radio campaign, the Greyhound Protection Act will not pass.
